Our dear friend has gone home to be with the Lord this morning. We called his room on Wednesday and the nurse put the speaker phone on and our daughter was able to talk to him. All he could do was respond with 'noise' of acknowledgement since his speech was gone. We called hospice this morning to check on him and we were told to call the family. I was able to speak with his son and I explained to him who we were (since we didn't know the son personally). I told him he may have seen a picture of a young girl he carried with him. He started to break down in tears and said that her picture is going to be placed in his casket. She was a loved girl!!
I am so thankful that although we can grieve his departure here on earth, we have the hope that we will see him again one day. He will be missed!!
How sad not to be able to see and visit with this dear man anymore. But we all rejoice in his home going to be with the Lord. No one would want him suffering any longer. What a lovely thought for our girl, to know her presence meant the world to him,and that her picture will be placed with him. We didn't know him real well, but I liked him very much. My sympathy goes out to you all. TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY IS TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD.

...praying for you all(especially big girl)...hugs....!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe were so saddened to hear about your dear friend! He definitely was a special person and we, too, will miss him! Praying for our girl and all of you. I'm so glad you got to visit him the last time you were here a couple of weeks ago! That is so-so sweet that her picture will be with him. In Mom's comment "to be present with the Lord" is something I'm sure he was looking forward to and now he suffers no more.
ReplyDeleteLove you all
