Recorder

This was one of our girls' birthday gifts last night. Daddy specifically wanted to get her a recorder! This is what she has learned in just one day already......

Special gift

When our friends from Canada came to visit, they brought our youngest kids a special gift. This is a hand made rocking horse that his dad made for their two children. Since their kids are now too big for it, they kindly thought of us and passed on the joy!! Our youngest one has a ball on it!

Today's pics

Today's pics are from yesterday morning. I came downstairs and started to take the sheet down from our backyard french doors (no curtains on it yet) and there was a female deer staring right at me!! This one the kids nicknamed dandelion (don't ask me!!!) She stayed in the yard for over 20 mins just grazing and watching us.....it was awesome! Even when the kids were noisy at the door, she would just lift her head and look at us. What finally got her to leave, you ask???? The video explains it all :)

We went to the Creation Museum this weekend in Kentucky. (Thank you Camfields for the free passes!!!!)
We all enjoyed it so much! It takes you through the 7 C's of the Bible: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, Consummation. I have so many photos, so I'm starting with the dinosaur pictures first. Our little guy was quite scared of the moving dinosaur!!

Birthday boy

Our boy is 6 today!! I know the saying gets old but "it goes by so fast!!!!" He is turning into quite the young gentleman. He loves to be helpful, hold doors open for the ladies, will go up and shake hands of the gentlemen, has the sweetest smile....I pray God will use him mightily as he grows up! Happy Birthday my son. You are such a blessing to us. I love you.

Cowpens battlefield

Last week when we went to hubby's throat appointment (surgery is in July), we took a detour on the way home and visited the Cowpens battlefield - field trip!!! This was very appropriate as we had just finished reading about it in history. I'd love to go visit when they do the reenactment of it! I didn't have my camera with me, but we used the phone camera to capture a few pics of the afternoon.
