Swimming

Saturday was the FIRST day it was warm enough to go swimming! It's been such a cool month of May, we didn't open the pool until the end of the month. The kids were excited to get into this year's new swimwear! All the little girls outfits came from Costco and our oldest got her's off of ModLi.

Our little cowgirl turned 4 today!  She is such a ball of energy, very determined, strong-willed at times, lovable with the cutest dimples.  We love you sweet girl.  Happy birthday.

Busy!

I keep meaning to update here but I have literally been soooo busy!  I have been sewing pretty much all through the week after we get schooling done and chores on the farm.  I have been excited to see all the orders coming through for hair wraps and I sold my first head covering as well!

The farm is hopping around here!  We have 2 geese laying right now and since it is their first year, we haven't seen them start setting yet.  It has been a couple weeks and they have laid about 24 eggs, so we bought 2 incubators and are trying to hatch 2/3 of the eggs ourselves.  I don't want them to go to waste.  We are also incubating about 11 duck eggs as well.  The beginning of April, we have more chickens, ducks, guinea and pheasant coming.  We are setting up new enclosed areas for all the birds.  I see a few more chicken coops in your future Steve when you come to visit!!!!   We have eggs coming out our ears.  Right now 28 dozen sitting in the kitchen.  We have a few buyers but not enough to get rid of our abundant supply.  We are also filling in all the pot holes in our driveway.  I actually hopped on the tractor for a bit and had some fun.  Yes, I am definitely a farm girl!
We are hoping to get the garden prepped soon.  We've got lots of goodies to plant this year.  I'm so excited about doing pumpkin again this year.  We all really enjoy our pumpkin roll dessert!

Well, I guess that is enough of an update for right now.  I have probably lost all my readers since I haven't posted for so long, but if you do stop by to read this, we are doing well, enjoying life, loving each other, and praising God for His abundant goodness to us!

Updates

Since the only thing I've been doing in my spare time is sewing....I thought I would post the head coverings that are ready for sale!  I need to do several more of each one before I add them to my shop (BeautifulHairWraps) but I'm excited at how they are turning out!

Birthday girl is 2!

Happy birthday to our not-so-little baby girl!  2 years old and what a joy she is.  She is mama's girl for sure and I love her hugs.  She loves to play with her 2 big sisters, be pampered by her oldest sister, have fun with her big brothers, and to cuddle with daddy.  What a delight she is to our family and loved by all.  Her smile and giggles are so precious!  We love you!!

Today was our precious boy's due date.  We would have been celebrating 2 birthdays!  How I wish I was holding him right now :)

Headcoverings

Getting excited!!  I've been thrilled at the results of my headcoverings.  I've done 3 different varieties so far.  Once I get a good stock made up, I will add them to my store BeautifulHairWraps on Etsy.  Here's a sample.....

New Year

Much has been happening around here since I last updated.  Things seem to get busier and busier, thus my blog posts get fewer and fewer!!
We had a great holiday with our family here over Christmas.  We managed to have 24 people squeezed together over the weekend and it worked out pretty well.  It was nice to get a pic of the family and the cousins all together.
We entered the new year with a birthday and our oldest turning a teenager!!!  Woohoo!  She received a sewing machine for Christmas and has already been busy sewing projects.  I'm so proud of her as she has put together 4 cloth feminine pads so far.  She has very little supervision from me and is getting quite quick with them.  We are very  much thinking of selling these in the future, so stay tuned for that!!
I've been excited at the sales so far from my online store, BeautifulHairWraps.com
I am working on expanding the variety and offering some really beautiful headcoverings soon.  Finding the time is the hard part for this homeschooling mama!!
The farm is doing well.  Our animals are nice and cozy thanks to 'Uncle Steve' for his handiwork.  The chickens are enjoying their chicken mansions :)  Great job!!
