Spent the holidays down south. We had a great time with family and we were able to go to our 'old' church and see all our friends. Good times....but now half the family is sick so we rest and pray the other half doesn't come down with it!!!
Today, many of the kids from church went to the senior center (where we meet on Sundays for church) to sing some Christmas carols. The first clip is our girl reading her passage (Luke 2:1-7) and the second clip is the kids singing Silent Night. Our three are front row.
I love this Christmas song from Joseph's perspective. Hope you enjoy!
How could it be
this baby in my arms
sleeping now, so peacefully
the Son of God, the angel said
How could it be?
Lord I know
he's not my own
not of my flesh
not of my bone
Still Father let, this baby be
the son of my love.
Father show me where I fit into this plan of yours
How can a man be father to the son of God?
Lord for all my life I've been a simple carpenter
How can I raise a king?
How can I raise a king?
He looks so small
his face and hands so fair
and when he cries the sun just seems to disappear
and when he laughs, it shines again
How could it be?
Father show me where I fit into this plan of yours
How can a man be father to the son of God?
Lord for all my life I've been a simple carpenter
How can I raise a king?
How can I raise a king?
How could it be
this baby in my arms
sleeping now, so peacefully
the son of God, the angel said
How could it be?
How could it be?
Hard to believe our girl turned 3 today!! She is our capital 'T' trouble girl *smile* She gets into everything, you always need to keep an eye on her, she is funny, loves to make her siblings laugh, her buddy is her big brother (5 yr old) but she follows her big sister everywhere, she can never have too many 'babies' to care for, and her smile and big brown eyes melt any heart!! We love you so much. We are so blessed to have you in our family.
Our girl had quite a big night tonight. She was off to see the Nutcracker Suite performed by the children's ballet group in Cincinnati with some of her girl friends from church. She was very, very excited! They finished the night off with a 2 scoop sundae and let me tell you, she was bouncing off the walls when she got home!! Half excitement....half sugar *grin*.
So I finally bit the bullet and gave in to feeding her solids. Yes, 7.5 months old is the longest I've gone so far before introducing solids. She absolutely loved her first taste of oatmeal!! I bought some Steel Cut Oats and put them in the baby bullet and ground them up before cooking. It's a handy little machine!!
I just love her smile right before trying her first bit of food!!
