How Deep the Father's Love for us

This is a song we love to sing at church.  Hope you enjoy!

 How deep the Father's love for us
how vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son
to make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss!
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon a cross,
my sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there,
until it was accomplished.
His dying breath has brought me life,
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast of anything;
no gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart;
His wounds have paid my ransom.

  5. Hey Alissa! Hope y'all had a great Christmas! I enjoy keeping up with your sweet family! I had a question for you. Do you have any good reading ideas for boys around 6 or 7 years old? Our oldest child devours books, but our next little one doesn't enjoy reading that much yet. Just wondering if you had any ideas that would make it a little more fun. Hope y'all have a great new year! Praying for you on the arrival of your newest little one, too!

  6. Hey Emile and Angie....
    Our boy LOVED these 2 sets of books when he was 6 and up. First is Cul-de-Sac Kids series and the second is Imagination Station series. He would go through a whole book in one day! He devoured them :)

  8. E and A,
    In case you come back to read any more comments, a suggestion for encouraging reading is to have a special chair (we have a big bean bag chair) and the kids like to take turns and curl up and read in it. It is so comfortable and it is a fun zebra print which makes it a 'fun' place to read in.
