Today was a fun, relaxed day. We headed out this morning for some errands, went to lunch at the Creation Museum and walked around (inside and out), ran a few more errands then came home to play in mud puddles and finish up chores around the house. We went to a farm that sells GMO free chicken feed which we are excited about!!
We have placed our order for chickens, ducks and geese which should be arriving over the next 2 weeks. We have much to do to get ready for their arrival (setting up heat lamps, pens for them, etc) We are first picking up 25 comets (good egg layers)....but we are also hoping towards April to get some Top Hats (chickens with afros on the heads!!) and some Easter egg chickens (they lay blue, green, pink eggs!) The ducks and geese are coming the end of March. We are hoping to convert the big empty shed towards the back of the property (near the pond) into a big chicken house. Anyone interested in coming for a visit to help with the remodeling/ building project....*hint* *hint*.
Here are a few pics from today. Here are all the background the museum now uses....pretty cool!
Well it looks like everyone had a really fun day. Always good to visit the museum. Nice backgrounds!
ReplyDeleteIt was warm enough for shorts and no jackets huh! The kids look like they are having fun. What is he doing with the pool skimmer?
Last picture is cute.
Love to all
He's holding a rake....as a weapon against the rooster!
ReplyDeleteGreat museum pictures and wonderful pictures of the kids enjoying the outdoors at your place. Looked like a beautiful day, for sure! I guess that means you have a rooster that likes to attack sometime. Glad you can get the GMO free chicken feed. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics Alissa - that museum is definitely a someday place to visit. I can't believe how much the girls have grown since I saw them last. And you know that last picture isn't going to go over too well when she is older lol...
ReplyDeleteAll those chickens etc. sound like a lot of work to me...have fun.
Love to all and lots of hugs.
