Homemade diaper bag

Yesterday and today I worked on and completed my first diaper bag. There are a few things I will do differently next time, but overall I'm happy with it. I like the colors and pattern but want to do just a little something extra on the front....just not sure what yet. It has 2 bottle pockets on the outside and I made 4 pockets on the inside. Here are a few pics :)

  1. Cute, cute, cute! It's fine as is, but if you wanted something extra, maybe you could put her initial on the front?!

  2. There is a sewing machine on sale at Price Costco that does monogramming!!! Or maybe I can find some iron-on thingy.

  3. It's a very nice diaper bag.The only thing I might change is a zipper closing'or a flap closing.I wouldn't want anything falling out.You sure did a great job on it.

  4. The diaper bag looks really nice! It looks like you have plenty of room for all the necessities. Just 2 months away now and our baby girl should be here.:)

  5. I love it. I too have thought about making one. What would you do differently? Does it stand up nice when you set it down? What size did you make it? Do you have a pocket for keys/wallet or an actual purse for that?

Sorry for asking tons of questions.. :)

  6. It does stand up very nice...there is a cardboard base to it. The things I would change are mostly the way I sewed it. It was a pattern for a tote and I added the pockets...also did the stuffing/lining during the wrong step which made it tons harder! But I would like to add some sort of zippered area where I can store medicine etc...if I need it (and not so easily accessible to childrens fingers) I'm also thinking of just velcroing the top together...
